After winning the Swiss Conductors Competition in 2006, Michael Bach is enjoying a successful career as conductor and has led various bands to numerous national and international titles. For instance, he is conducting Brassband Bürgermusik Luzern since 2009, and in addition to numerous contest successes in Switzerland, together they won the European Brass Band Contest 2014 in Perth (UK).
Besides a busy concert schedule in his home country with different Orchestras, Brass and Wind Bands, he is regularly conducting abroad and has been guest conductor with many bands in Europe, such as Grimethorpe Colliery Band in 2023. Further to his conducting, Michael is also gathering more and more experience as Contest Adjudicator and has already judged at contests like the EBBC, the WMC in Kerkrade or the British National Championships in the Royal Albert Hall in London.
Born into a Family of musicians, Michael benefited from an excellent education with several institutions. During his conducting studies at the Hochschule der Künste in Berne (CH), he was taught by people like Ludwig Wicki, Oliver Waespi or Thomas Rüedi. Several Masterclasses lead him to people like Timothy Reynish, Baldur Brönnimann or Alex Schillings.
